How To Apply
How to Apply in 5 Easy Steps
- Remove dirt, grease, moisture, soap residue & old caulk from areas to be sealed.Tip: Use backer rod for gaps larger than ⅜” (W) x 1/4” (D) (9.5mm x 6mm)
- Remove cap & cut nozzle with the GE Cartridge Opener and Smoothing Tool to obtain desired bead size.
- Apply caulk and then smooth into gap. Sealant should be tooled within 5 to 10 minutes after application. Do not use soapy water or oil as a tooling aid.Tip: Sealant beads should be no thicker than ½” (12.7mm) or thinner than ⅛” (3.2mm)
- Clean up excess wet caulk with a damp sponge before it skins over. Excess dried caulk must be cut or scraped away. Clean hands and tools with warm water and soap.
- Allow to dry 30 minutes before painting with latex paint or 24 hours if using oil-based paints. Allow a minimum of 24 hours before exposing to water.
